Let's help young deaf athletes get to the European Games.

Following the successful participation of Czech athletes in the Deaflympics, another major challenge lies ahead. In August 2026, Hanover, Germany, will host the inaugural European Deaf Youth Games, offering young athletes from across Europe the chance to compete and gain valuable international experience.

The Czech Republic will be represented by 17 young athletes competing in four sports: badminton, swimming, futsal, and tennis. Behind each of them lie long hours of training, a determination to overcome obstacles, and a strong desire to prove that hearing impairment is no barrier to elite-level sport.

For most of them, this will be their first major international experience and a unique opportunity to measure their performance against the best young deaf athletes in Europe. These Games are about more than just medals; they are about forging new friendships, building self-confidence, and finding the motivation to continue their athletic and personal journeys.

However, participating in such a significant event entails a considerable financial burden. Costs for travel, accommodation, entry fees, organizational expenses, and the logistics of the entire delegation are high, and without the support of donors, the journey to the European championship would be extremely difficult for many of these young athletes.

We therefore appeal to everyone who cares about the future of talented children and young people with hearing impairments. Your contribution will help ensure that the Czech delegation can represent our country with pride and that these 17 young athletes get the chance to fulfill their sporting dreams. Every crown brings them a step closer to competing under the Czech flag at the historic first-ever European Deaf Youth Games and showing that sport unites people, regardless of any barriers.
